Data can be figured out about a person, place, things, etc, which can be recorded and collected in the form of text, number, sound, image etc. Data itself do not give proper meaning without processing. For example ,the details of students (Roll No: 1, 2, 3, 4, Name : Dipak, Sabita, Messi, Ronaldo, Age: 20 , 23, 32, 35, Gender: male , female , Class: BBA, Msc, etc are data) . Above data can’t give exact meaning.

Processing:  The method or procedure of converting data into meaningful information with the help of software is called processing. It is is the overall activity of data manipulation using the computer to obtain meaningful information.

Information: The desired result or meaningful output obtained after processing data is called information It is relevant knowledge or processed form of data which gives complete meaning and used for a specific purpose.

Program: The collection of a sequenced set of code or instruction which instructs the computer to perform a particular task and operation is called program. The computer performs any task following the program instructions. Programs in the computer are designed using programming languages.

Hardware: The physical or tangible parts of the computer which can be touched and felt are called hardware. They are peripheral devices used in a computer for a specific purpose. Keyboard, Mouse, CPU, Monitor, Speaker, Printer, Hard disk are some common hardware.

Software: Software is a collection of computer programs, which makes the computer work. In other word, the software is a set of computer programs, procedures and associated documents for effective execution of the computer system.  The software consists of a sequence of instructions written in the computer-understandable form.

Firmware: A set of microinstructions stored in a chip is called firmware. Firmware is a sequence of instruction which is substituted for hardware and stored in read-only memory. However, with the advancement in technology and the reduction in hardware cost, today software is also being made available on ROM chip which is known as firmware.

Liveware: The persons, uses or operator associated in the computer field is known as liveware. They can be programmers, system analyst, operation staff, database administrator, hardware technicians and other person working in a computer.
